Part 2 of my slacking... here is a quick recap of 16, 17 and 18 months:
*** Brooke LOVES the outdoors! Since we were spoiled with wonderful weather in March, we have spent alot of time outside. She loves to run around and chase balls, golf, play with bubbles, go down the slide and her favorite is her swing!
*** Brooke is still VERY independent and rarely likes to actually cuddle, but she has learned to give great hugs and kisses! My heart melts when she stops what she is doing just to come give me a kiss. She loves kissing her family, but the dogs outrank everyone!
*** Brooke is obsessed with bubbles! The word "bubbles" has replaced "baba" as her favorite word! The funny thing is, when you actually blow the bubbles for her, she could care less. I am confident that her obsession with bubbles, is her way of getting outside.
*** Brooke has proven to be a daredevil, which unfortunately has resulted in 4 or 5 black eyes, amongst lots of other bumps and bruises. Luckily, she is pretty tough and has handled her injuries with only a few minutes of tears.
*** Brooke can now identify on herself and others... nose, mouth, ears, eyes, toes, fingers, knees, belly button, boobs, (thanks Auntie) and hair.
*** Brooke can identify all the adults in her life... Mama, Dada, Nana (grandma Sandy), Mimi (grandma Joan), Papa (grandpa Butch) and Titi (auntie Jean). She calls anyone under 5ft tall "baby", including her 2 sisters. She has made some enemies, 3 year olds don't like being called babies! LOL
*** Bedtime is still going smoothly. She goes down sometime between 8p-9p and wakes up around 6:30am. Naptime hasn't changed either, she will nap for 1-2 hours, if mom naps with her.
*** Brooke still loves to eat!!! There really isn't much she doesn't like. She is starting to let us know when she is ready to eat and what she wants to eat. For example, in the morning... she will bang on her highchair while saying "nana" (banana).
*** Brooke still weighs 31 lbs (16 months), wears size 2T and some 3T clothing and size 5 diapers. She is really starting to thin out and lose her baby fat.
*** Brooke's vocabulary has expanded from about 30 words to over 100 in the past few months. Even if she doesn't know the exact word, she is good at communicating to let us know what she wants.
*** Brooke can identify a handful of colors (blue, green, red and purple). She can identify 14 of 26 animals from her Fisher Price Zoo. Her favorite is the Awala (Koala) and Eee Eee (monkey).
*** What Brooke understands is amazing. She understands basic commands... throw something away, go get something, find something, etc... She is growing up SO fast!
*** Brooke is still full of smiles and giggles most of the time. Unfortunately, she is learning how to pitch a fit when she doesn't get her way.
